Welcome to Goldenstars Boxing. Our facility is built on dedication, community, and mutual respect. This Code of Conduct applies to all members, fighters, coaches, and visitors. By entering the gym and by participating in our Services, you agree to uphold these standards of behavior.
This Code works together with our Terms of Service and our Waiver. Acceptance of this Code is captured through the Waiver. Where a participant is under 18, acceptance is provided through the Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
1. Safety and sparring
- Supervised sparring only: Never spar without explicit coach permission and direct ringside supervision.
- Mandatory gear: Approved headgear, mouthguard, hand wraps, and 16oz sparring gloves are required for all live contact.
- Controlled contact: Sparring is for skill development, not personal rivalries. Match your partner's intensity and respect differences in size, age, and skill level.
- Stop on command: Immediately cease all action when a coach calls "Time" or "Stop."
- Injury disclosure: Notify a coach of any pre-existing medical conditions, concussions, or active injuries before training begins.
2. Respect and professionalism
- Zero tolerance for discrimination: Harassment, bullying, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected ground will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of membership.
- Coach authority: Follow instructions from coaching staff. The head coach maintains ultimate authority in the facility.
- Leave your ego at the door: Support your teammates, whether they are fitness beginners or elite competitive fighters.
- Appropriate language: Profanity, excessive screaming, or derogatory "trash talk" is not permitted.
3. Hygiene and facility cleanliness
- Personal hygiene: Wash your hand wraps and training clothes after every session. Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed to prevent scratching training partners.
- Gear sanitation: Wipe down shared heavy bags, pads, and equipment immediately after use with the provided disinfectant.
- Ring cleanliness: Never wear outdoor shoes or boots inside the boxing ring. Use dedicated boxing shoes or clean indoor athletic sneakers.
- Litter disposal: Dispose of all used hand tape, water bottles, and paper towels in the designated bins.
4. Prohibited substances and conduct
- Sobriety: Do not enter the gym or train under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Outside violence: Street fighting or using your boxing skills maliciously outside the gym may result in a permanent ban.
- Theft and damage: Intentionally damaging gym property or stealing from fellow members may be reported to police and may result in civil action.
5. Violations and discipline
Failure to comply with these rules disrupts our training environment and compromises safety. Depending on the severity of the violation, Goldenstars Boxing may, at its discretion, issue a warning, suspend training or sparring privileges, or immediately terminate membership without refund (where permitted by law).
For less serious violations, we typically follow a progressive approach:
- First: verbal warning and immediate correction.
- Second: written warning and suspension from contact or sparring privileges.
- Third: temporary suspension or permanent membership cancellation without refund.
This progression is a guideline, not a guarantee. Serious misconduct (including violence, harassment, discrimination, or conduct that endangers others) may result in immediate suspension or termination without prior warning. Suspension and termination of membership are governed by our Terms of Service.
6. Acknowledgment
By signing the Goldenstars Boxing Waiver, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian provides this acknowledgment through the Waiver.
